How to upload your competition to your profile:

• Read the rules regarding competition posts.
• Complete the form and click on “load competition” when you are done.
• Our advertising team will receive the information which they will load online.

We create social media posts of our advertisers

Activated after 3 consecutive months of active subscription.

Our premium directory advertisers can get up to 6 social media mentions per 12-month cycle.  

The Mooi Troues Social Media team will create social media posts of your business for our social media to share on Facebook and Instagram Stories. The imagery and information used to create these social media posts are taken from your Directory Listing, that’s why it’s important to keep your directory updated.

Want to request for Mooi Troues to post something specific for your business on our social media platforms?

Because all our social media posts are compiled by our social media team and we do not require advertisers to submit specific social media content to us. 

However, if you have something specific you would like our social media team to post, please request a specific post by clicking here.  Our social media team will then reply to your e-mail with a link to our social media specifications and what they would require from you to be able to schedule a post.

First impressions are everything! That moment your advertisement goes live on Mooi Troues, eyes are on it. Brides-to-be browse our directory and decide based on what they see on your advertisement if they would like to exit and have a look at your website.

Keep your listing or banners up to date with your latest work. This way our readers see your updated work and not outdated work you might have forgotten about. Remember to update your logo’s if it changes or images if you had a stunning wedding and want to showcase it to potential clients.

Advertisers are entitled to update their directory listing once every 6 months at no additional cost. This service is free of charge for all Mooi Troues advertisers.

Have you heard of Troue van die Jaar?

We launched our very first Troue van die Jaar competition in 2019 with great success. Thereafter the Troue van die Jaar 2020 and Troue van die Jaar 2021. We are currently on our fifth Troue van die Jaar competition, Troue van die Jaar 2023 and are extremely proud thereof.

Troue van die Jaar 2024, our sixth Troue van die Jaar competition is currently open for entries for all couples that got married in 2024.

Mooi Troues was established in May 2013 in Sea Point, South Africa by Entrepreneurs, Günther en Jaun. They saw a gap in the market at the time for an Afrikaans online wedding publication, which shares wedding inspiration that’s on an international standard and promotes businesses in the wedding industry. Mooi Troues grew quickly into one of South Africa’s most loved online wedding publications – also known as a wedding blog. Mooi Troues grew quickly over the years into a reputable brand and a source of wedding advice, inspiration, and professional wedding service providers.

Günther is the former unit stills specialist of Top Billing, Expresso Show, and Afternoon Express, broadcasted to SABC3. He is also a qualified Hospitality Manager. With years of experience in the media industry and passion for the industry, Günther implemented his knowledge into Mooi Troues.

Jaun has years of experience in the hospitality industry, including restaurants and a five-star boutique hotel, as well as in the media industry. He holds a qualification in Social Media. With a passion for people and years of hospitality- and media industry experience, Jaun implemented his knowledge into Mooi Troues.

Mooi Troues understand the value of quality work and therefore has strict publishing standards. Mooi Troues won the African Blogger Awards in 2015 for the category “blogs with the best photography”. Our founder was also one of the Top Vendor Wedding Awards judges in 2015. In 2017, Mooi Troues also won the Best Wedding Blog in South Africa award at the Top Vendor Wedding Awards.

Mooi Troues founders want to connect businesses in the wedding industry to couples busy planning their wedding. The idea behind Mooi Troues was always to give businesses in South Africa the opportunity to market their services and products to couples planning their weddings.

The content we publish on Mooi Troues includes Real Weddings, Real Engagements, Styled Shoots, Wedding Planning Advice, Stationery Inspiration, Free Printable Wedding Stationery, Honeymoon ideas and many more content.

Most of Mooi Troues readers are based in South Africa, but Mooi Troues can be read free of charge around the world.

Shortly after Mooi Troues went online we were published in top South-African magazines and television shows including Sarie Bruid, Huisgenoot, You, Bella, Fairlady Bride, Die Burger and Pasella, broadcasted on SABC 3. They also used to give regular wedding tips on Radio Sonder Grense.
