To get published on blogs are exactly the same as being featured in a printed magazine or on a local television show.  It's valuable exposure for your business and add to being seen as an Authority within your industry.  

To get published is no walk in the park.  Blogs have strict editorial guidelines they adhere to.  Yes, there's some blogs out there that publish whatever they get, but we talk about blogs that are seen as an Authority in the media world.  It's an honour to get published and not a right, so make use of the oppertunity when it is available. 

Social Media mentions are not the same as getting published on a blog, magazine or television show.  Blogs have their own unique readership which follow stories written by a team of professionals that need to go through an entire editorial team to make sure the information that are published adds value to the readers and are indeed true and authentic. 

One benifit blogs have above magazines and television shows are that it creates backlinks for your website.  Google uses a site ranking system called PageRank™. According to Google, “PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value.” In other words, the more sites that link to you, the higher your PageRank. Not only that, but the higher PageRank value another linking website has, the better. Both quantity and quality are of importance.
